A power failure meant delivery of two sister dailies was delayed on Friday.
The problem affected Barrow-in-Furness daily The Mail and the West edition of the Carlisle-based News & Star.
Both of the titles have been printed at Newsquest’s Glasgow plant since the closure of the former CN Group Carlisle plant earlier this year.
The News & Star and The Mail apologised for any inconvenience caused to readers.
A statement published on The Mail’s website shortly after 1pm on Friday reads: “Due to a power problem at our press plant, The Mail was delayed today.
“The edition is now being delivered into our usual outlets.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
How to destroy a once great newspaper…. print it miles away.
