Twentysomething regional journalists urged to enter national awards

Conor Matchett 2022Last-minute entries are being sought for a national awards scheme celebrating young journalists.

MHP Mischief 30 To Watch: Young Journalist Awards for 2023, which honours talent in the industry under the age of 30, are welcoming submissions.

However, the deadline for entries is tomorrow, Friday 31 March.

This year’s scheme features nine categories for reporting on City & Business, Culture, Entertainment & Lifestyle, Health, International Affairs, News & Investigations, Personal Finance & Consumer Affairs, Politics, Production (TV, Radio & Podcasts)Science and Tech & Environment.

Last year’s investigations prize was won by Scotsman deputy political editor Conor Matchett, pictured.

Conor was recognised for his work in revealing Public Health Scotland sought to delay the publication of a report into Covid-19 care home deaths until after the Holyrood elections.
