A former weekly newspaper editor has been honoured by an annual awards scheme celebrating women in business.

Amanda Chalmers has won the ‘Excellence In Media’ Award at Ladies First Professional Development Network Business Awards, a Midlands-wide scheme.

Amanda spent almost three decades in the regional press, editing the Stratford Herald between 2014 and 2018, before launching Chalmers News PR.

Her latest crown comes after she last year won the Achievers in Media category at the Woman Who Awards, which celebrates inspirational women in the workplace.

Amanda, pictured, told HTFP: “It was such an honour to be among those singled out in a room full of such truly incredible women.

“I never lose sight of how lucky I am to be doing a job that I love and working with some incredible small business owners who continue to inspire me every day. Looking forward to what’s ahead.”

Ladies First director Tracey McAtamney said: “Congratulations to all the finalists and winners who all truly deserve recognition for their incredible achievements.

“It was wonderful to see so many women supporting and celebrating each other’s successes.”
