A set of awards celebrating the best print newspapers in the country have launched for 2024.

The Newspaper Awards is preparing to receive entries, with submissions being welcomed in October.

Deadline for entries is 15 December 2023 ahead of an awards ceremony on 26 March next year at the London Hilton Bankside.

The Cambridge Independent won its fifth consecutive Local Weekly Newspaper of the Year title at the 2023 awards, while the Yorkshire Post was named Regional Newspaper of the Year.

It came after the scheme, previously known as the newsawards, relaunched with a fresh focus on “production and innovation” in printed papers.

Awards director Gary Cullum said: “Last year’s decision to focus purely on print may have seemed counter-intuitive but our level of entries for the 2023 Awards was excellent both in terms of quantity and quality.

“We’re looking forward to again showcasing world-class newspapers printed nationally, regionally and internationally at what promises to be a major industry networking event.”
