A regional publisher has launched a new video channel featuring its journalists from across the country.

Newsquest has announced the launch of Charged – True Crime UK, which will appear on YouTube.

The channel will host a new series of true crime documentaries presented by Jody Doherty-Cove, the publisher’s digital optimisation editor.

Each episode will feature Jody, pictured, talking to a different Newsquest reporter who has covered some of Britain’s “most shocking cases”.

The videos will be linked to the relevant newspaper website, where viewers will be able to access full interviews, interactive timelines and picture galleries.

Announcing the new channel’s launch yesterday, Newsquest’s head of new platforms and tools Sofia Delgado wrote: “The first episode, released today, tells the story of one of Britain’s most wanted killers.

“Presenter Jody explores how Christopher Guest More Jr fled the UK and led a luxurious lifestyle after torturing and murdering a man in front of his two children in Warrington.

“Adam Everett, senior reporter at the Warrington Guardian, shines a light on what happened during the trial and the jury’s decision.

“The series will travel the length and breadth of the country to explore the grizzly historical crimes in our communities with new episodes released each month.”
