A regional daily’s Westminster correspondent is moving on after 12 months to a role with a national politics website.
Caitlin Doherty has announced she will be leaving the Yorkshire Post to join political news title Politics Home.
Caitlin, pictured, worked for PA as a news reporter before joining the Leeds-based Post last year.
Her predecessor Geri Scott left the Post to go the other way, joining the national news agency’s lobby team.
Announcing her move on Twitter, Caitlin wrote: “Very excited to say that I’ll be joining the brilliant Politics Home team from next month.
“I can’t wait to get started during what I’m sure will be a politically peaceful (with absolutely no news to be generated) summer.”
“I’ve had a wonderful year with the team at the Yorkshire Post and I will really miss covering the patch – as well as reeling off stats about it to anybody who will listen. But looking forward to a fresh challenge.”
Paying tribute, Post editor James Mitchinson wrote: “Go well, mate. You’ve been superb for us at a difficult political moment.”
