Publisher axes award-winning editorial chief after six years

Christopher PhinA regional publisher has made an award-winning senior editorial manager redundant after six years with the company.

DC Thomson has confirmed the departure of its head of podcasts Christopher Phin.

In a LinkedIn post announcing his departure, Christopher wrote: “Three years ago DC Thomson didn’t have any podcasts.

“Now it’s got a portfolio of more than a dozen, with well north of a million downloads across the family, revenue, and new audiences.

“I’m so immensely proud of what we built together. Time for a break, then I’ll see what’s next.

“To my teams, thank you; fair winds and following seas.”

The group also claimed a hat-trick of honours at this year’s Publisher Podcast Awards.
