Daily pledges to devote more resources to cost-of-living coverage

BradJonesA regional daily has vowed to focus more resources on covering the cost-of-living crisis.

The East Anglian Daily Times has made the pledge, telling its readers it wants to “tell as many of your stories as we can, sharing both your struggles and solutions during this crisis”.

The EADT says it will also provide advice on practical solutions to ease the burden, campaign on behalf of those being treated unfairly and highlight ways people can financially support others living on the breadline.

The newspaper has further stated its aim support and highlight the struggles of local businesses, and to itself offer money-off offers and deals in print and online.

The Ipswich-based daily becomes the latest regional press title to pledge its devotion to helping readers during the crisis, following the launch of similar initiatives elsewhere.

Last month, Lancs Live appointed Jamie Lopez to be a full-time reporter dedicated to covering the crisis, while the Derbyshire Times and Glasgow Times have also campaigned on the issue.

EADT editor Brad Jones, pictured, said: “This issue is affecting everybody and the impact could last for years.

“Our pledge today is that our newspapers will do what they can to highlight problems and provide practical solutions to ease the burden where possible.”
