Journalist who left daily last year unveiled as editor of regional business title

Shelina BegumA business journalist who left a daily newspaper last year is taking the top job at a regional business news website.

TheBusinessDesk.com has unveiled former Manchester Evening News business editor Shelina Begum as its North West editor.

Shelina, pictured, spent 21 years in regional journalism, including five in the business editor role, before leaving the MEN in September.

In recent months she had run her own company, Shelina Begum Media.

Shelina has also worked at a number of other titles including The Asian News, Rochdale Observer and Oldham Advertiser.
