Former regional editor joins ex-colleague’s PR firm

Claire SherwenA former editorial boss has joined a public relations firm run by an ex-regional daily editor.

Claire Sherwen, who was publishing editor of Newsquest Cumbria Magazines until April this year, has been taken on by 32West, owned by James Higgins.

In her previous role with Newsquest, Claire oversaw Cumbria Life, Carlisle Living and Dumfries & Galloway Life and was the launch editor for Lakes & Cumbria Wedding magazine.

She had spent almost 20 years with Newsquest Cumbria and its forerunner the CN Group at the time of her departure.

Claire, pictured, said: “I’m delighted to be joining the 32West team. Their ethos of creating fantastic content and working alongside clients to achieve the very best results is something which I connected with immediately.

“I’m looking forward to being part of such a creative team at an exciting time for the company and its clients.”

James, who edited South Cumbria daily The Mail until 2018, said: “Our mission at 32West is to help amazing businesses grow. We always aim to do that in a creative way which inspires and excites.
