Four jobs created as former daily editor expands PR firm

James Higgins 2022Four new jobs have been created as part of a former regional daily editor’s expansion of his public relations agency.

James Higgins has revealed fresh plans for 32West, which he launched in 2018 after leaving the North West Evening Mail.

Since then, James has recruited other former regional press figures including ex-Newsquest Cumbria managing director Jonathan Lee and Claire Sherwen, who was publishing editor of the same group’s magazines division until 2020.

The firm is now seeking two senior content creators, while two further social media roles have also been created.

32West has regional bases in Newcastle, Carlisle, Liverpool and South Lakeland, in Cumbria, but also offers a ‘work from anywhere’ policy.

James, pictured, said: “We have enjoyed a period of significant success, made possible by a robust strategy and a fantastic team. Breaking through the £1 million annual revenue barrier is well within our reach and will represent an incredible milestone in 32West’s journey to date.

“Being named in the top 50 companies in our industry outside of London by PR Week is recognition of our increasing presence across the North of England and our growing reputation for delivering outstanding results for our clients.

“32West’s mission is to ‘Make a positive difference every day’ and that all starts with our people.

“We are focused on ensuring 32West is a great place to work where people enjoy being part of a creative team, delivering the best possible service and achieving their full potential.”
