A former regional editor who wrote a series of quizzes to cure “lockdown boredom” has compiled a new trivia book.

HTFP reported in May how Andrew Townsend, who previously edited the Plymouth Extra, Sunday Independent and Cornish Times, had produced three quiz e-books in order to help families stuck at home due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Andrew, pictured, has now penned ‘Brits Spill The Beans!’, which brings together hundreds of facts and figures that have been revealed through polls and surveys in recent years.

The new title is available as both a paperback from Amazon or an e-book.

Andrew, 58, told HTFP: “I decided to compile Brits Spill The Beans! after reading that a small percentage of Brits put up their Christmas decorations in September, yes, September.

“The revelation set the tone for the book which generally steers clear of the more sombre topics regularly covered by the mainstream media.

“Over the years, I have noted down humorous and quirky survey results.

“Now I have brought together the details to sketch out what is going on, to varying degrees, in the ordinary – and extraordinary – everyday lives of people in Britain.”
