An editor has hailed the success of a pioneering sticker album produced by a regional daily as the project draws to a close.
The Eastern Daily Press is withdrawing from sale stickers of its first ever official Norwich City FC album, which it launched in the autumn.
HTFP reported in October how the 5,000 copies of the album, produced with the club’s official blessing, had been sold in the first week of its launch, along with 16,000 packs of five stickers.
The EDP has now reminded readers they have just a few days left to complete their albums, although collectors can purchase the final few stickers they need from the EDP’s Rouen Road headquarters.
Since it was launches, football fans have held swap shops and completed trades on social media in order to get the stickers they require.
EDP editor David Powles said: “We’ve all been blown away by how fantastically the sticker albums have been received since we launched them alongside Norwich City Football Club.
“It’s been great to see so many people getting involved and really embracing the spirit of it all – from new and young fans to those who have been following the club for decades. It has really crossed the generations.
“I’m delighted so many people were able to complete their albums and now have a real collector’s item to cherish.
“And for those of you who didn’t, fear not as you will be able to pick up your last few from our headquarters on Rouen Road.”
