Regional publisher creates new role with view to ‘identifying acquisition targets’

Andy Williams DCA regional publisher’s commercial chief has been promoted with a view to “identifying acquisition targets” for the company.

DC Thomson has introduced the role of chief revenue officer to the business, with head of advertising Andy Williams, pictured, taking up the post.

Andy, who has worked for DC Thomson for eight years, will move from the firm’s Fleet Street office, in London, to its Dundee headquarters as a result of the move.

The publisher says “identifying acquisition targets” will form a key part of his role.

Said Andy: “I’m really excited to be widening my remit within the business to encompass commercial activities across different areas.

“I’m looking forward to continuing to work on commercialising our existing activities as well as identifying new areas for growth and acquisition targets.

“Moving to join the team in our Dundee headquarters is a fantastic opportunity and I can’t wait to get started.”

DC Thomson chief executive Mike Watson added: “Andy’s appointment as CRO highlights our focus on commercialising activity across the business, from traditional print through to some of our diversifications like events.

“Since joining the business eight years ago, Andy has built great relationships internally and externally, and I’m thrilled that Andy will be joining the executive team in our Dundee headquarters.”

Congrats Andy. I’ve got a great target for you to acquire. Why not buy Reach?
