Third national editor added to Society of Editors conference line-up

Lloyd Embley 1A third national editor has been confirmed as a speaker at this year’s Society of Editors conference.

Lloyd Embley, group editor-in-chief of the Mirror titles, will deliver a keynote address at the event in Manchester.

Lloyd, pictured, joins Guardian editor-in-chief Katharine Viner and outgoing Daily Mail editor Paul Dacre on the bill for the conference, which takes place in November.

As group editor-in-chief, Lloyd has overall editorial responsibility for all of Reach’s national titles.

He joined Reach forerunner Trinity Mirror in 1994 as a sub-editor on the Daily Mirror and has held several positions including deputy chief sub-editor, assistant night editor, night editor and assistant editor.

He became editor of the Sunday People in 2008, and then editor of the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror in 2012, before being appointed to editor-in-chief later that year.

Lloyd was promoted to the role of group editor-in-chief with editorial responsibility for Trinity Mirror’s national and regional newsbrands in 2014.
