Culture Secretary added to Society of Editors conference bill

Jeremy Wright, left, has been confirmed as a speaker at the event on Monday 5 November.

He joins Mirror group editor-in-chief, Guardian editor-in-chief Katharine Viner and outgoing Daily Mail editor Paul Dacre on the bill for the conference in Manchester.

Mr Wright was previously Attorney General from 2014 to 2018 before taking up his current role.

Ian Murray, executive director of the Society of Editors, has welcomed his inclusion on the bill.

Ian said: “Hearing what the newly-appointed Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport has to say on his thoughts for the future of our industry will be vital for anyone looking to understand the shape of media in the UK in the coming years.

“It is also an opportunity for industry movers and shakers to put their questions to the Secretary of State on the important topics of the hour.”
