Editor and ‘self-professed princess’ set to get muddy for charity

An editor and “self-professed princess” will join colleagues in completing a muddy endurance event for charity.

Newsquest North London group editor Victoria Birch is set to take on the ‘Tough Mudder’ challenge, along with commercial director Sarah Sanderson and advertising salesman Adam Thorpe.

They will be undertaking the five-mile challenge in aid of the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, in Barnet.

Both Victoria and Sarah have described themselves as “self-professed princesses” in a piece previewing the event, while Adam is a former soldier.

Said Victoria: “I really do hate anything messy and have always refused to do Tough Mudder in the past, despite being asked several times.

“But after Sarah and I visited the new hospice we realised what a special place this is and wanted to do something to get much-needed funds.

“We don’t like to beg, but as they say, every little helps so we’d be grateful if you could help us to support this incredible charity.”

The Tough Mudder event will be held in Gaddesden Estate, Hemel Hempstead, on 7 July.
