Editor and ‘self-professed princess’ tackles muddy challenge to raise £800

An editor and “self-professed princess” has helped colleagues raise hundreds of pounds after battling through a muddy charity challenge.

HTFP previously reported how Newsquest North London group editor Victoria Birch was set to take on the ‘Tough Mudder’ challenge, along with commercial director Sarah Sanderson and advertising salesman Adam Thorpe.

Both Victoria and Sarah described themselves as “self-professed princesses” before the event, but managed to complete the endurance challenge along with former soldier Adam.

Their efforts raised £800 for the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, in Barnet.

In a piece thanking their donors, Victoria said: “Despite the intense heat, the bruises and battle scars, we actually found ourselves enjoying it.

“We want to say a huge thank you to our readers, contacts, colleagues, friends and family for their donations.

“And for putting up with our whinges ahead of the event.”

The challenge took place at the Gaddesden Estate, Hemel Hempstead, earlier this month.
