Local TV company launches two new channels

MadeA local television company which runs channels in six cities has announced it is to launch two new stations.

Made Television is set to launch Made in Teesside at the end of the month, and has also been awarded the licence to run a station in Mold, North Wales.

Made in Teesside will begin broadcasting on 30 March, while the Mold-based channel will launch later this year.

It follows the network’s launch of two new channels in Birmingham and Liverpool late last year, while it also runs stations in Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds and Tyne & Wear.

Chief executive Jamie Conway said: “We are very excited to be bringing Made Television to viewers in Teesside.

“Our commitment to provide local content that reflects the lives and aspirations of our viewers has been very successful to date and we will be replicating this for our viewers in Teesside.

“We are also committed to providing opportunities for local people to get involved in what we do and we’re looking forward to working with the local community to present a great new channel later this month.”

Both new channels will be available on Freeview Channel 8 and Virgin 159 in their respective areas.
