Friday Funnies: Fresh blow for Ranieri in managerial mix-up

Pearson funny

Poor old Claudio Ranieri. Not only did Leicester City give their title-winning manager the boot last week, but the Leicester Mercury also mistakenly captioned a photograph of his predecessor Nigel Pearson with his name.

Rumours that Pearson may return for a third spell with the current champions of England are sure to strike fear into the hearts of journalists covering the club, following the famous incident in 2015 in which he branded a reporter an “ostrich” at a press conference.

Pretty basic and embarrassing stuff really, would they dare make the same mistake in the paper I wonder? Shows you what can happen when people publish in a hurry on the web to get their hits up.

Not really embarrassing. Someone has just linked the caption element in the wrong order on the Tera page and the automated XML file has then pulled in the wrong one. I’ll bet it was spotted and fixed within a couple minutes.

I’ll also bet it’s not the worst error you’ll find in the paper or on the website today!

Pearson might have been out of order but I have been to football press sessions in the past and some journos ask the dumbest questions. It must be frustrating hearing them week after week, though the money is good!
