A trio of sister newspapers have launched a new joint website offering business news from the region they serve.
HumberBusiness.com – a venture between the Hull Daily Mail, Grimsby Telegraph and Scunthorpe Telegraph – went live yesterday with a focus on the business community based on both sides of the Humber estuary.
As well as stories written by business journalists at the three Local World-owned titles, businesses themselves are able to share and promote their own content on the site.
A directory of contacts, contracts and suppliers also features, while a calendar of forthcoming networking events can also be found.
In a piece introducing the site, the three titles’ managing director Mike Pennington wrote: “It is a great pleasure to personally welcome you to Humberbusiness.com, brought to you by the Grimsby Telegraph, Scunthorpe Telegraph and Hull Daily Mail.
“The site has been many months in the planning and we are proud to be able to now share this dedicated platform created for the region’s vibrant business community.
“With news and information covering industry sectors throughout the Humber, the site is a quick and effective way for businesses to connect.
He added: “We’re continuously evolving our business content and believe this site is the next step to meet the needs of local businesses and organisations. We are very proud of where we are today and excited about where we are headed.
“We hope that you enjoy discovering the new website, find it easy to navigate and pleasant to use.”
Nothing but advanced UGC, self-promoting, ‘cross-platform’ tosh. Once the regional media was there to criticise, analyse, check and investigate. Now it’s come to this.
