Regional newspapers’ new business head returns to his roots

One of the UK’s leading regional publishers has appointed a new managing director for its Oxfordshire & Wiltshire business.

Chris Moore is returning to Newsquest  Media Group where he began his newspaper career 18 years ago.

He started as a sales executive on the Wiltshire Advertiser in 1996 and is joining the UK’s second biggest regional weekly sales group from Trinity Mirror where he was a regional sales director of its north eastern business.

Prior to this Chris was commercial director of Archant Norfolk and has served on the senior executive team or board of three of the UK’s top five regional newspaper publishers.

Henry Faure Walker, chief executive of Newsquest, said: “I am delighted that Chris is joining us to lead our Oxfordshire & Wiltshire business.

“He brings with him a strong track record in developing regional advertising businesses, both in print and online.”
