Local World appoints national sales director

A former Northcliffe Media executive has returned to the newspaper industry as the new national sales director for its successor company Local World.

Damien Tidd was national advertising sales director for Northcliffe before joining the independent sales house Madison Bell where he was responsible for growing ad revenues for magazines such as Pruvate Eye and the National Trust magazine.

In his new role with LW his responsibilities will include reviewing the national advertising packages across the company and liaising with nasa, the sales agency which represents Local World’s national advertising.

Said Damien: “Having worked in media for more than 20 years. I am delighted to be getting back into regional media and joining the team at Local World – a company with such a strong portfolio of print and digital products.”

Local World commercial director Blanche Sainsbury added: “I am thrilled Damien has decided to join our team. His enthusiasm, commitment and drive will ensure we are getting the best from our national representation while ensuring we are capitalising on new revenues.”

Damien, who will report to Blanche, joins Local World on 3 March.
