Friday Funnies: Headline ‘ffail’ for Midlands weekly

Ordinarily this would go down as a great front page by the Northants Herald & Post as the paper marked the arrival of some of the world’s top female cyclists to the town.

The play on the word ‘terrific’ was however slightly marred by the paper’s apparent belief that it contains two Fs.

Sorry, but I don’t find anything funny about this. All regional newspapers are now being put together by fewer and fewer people working under great stress. No doubt the sub (if there still is one) is mortified. I’ve seen what appears to be some user generated content in my local paper this week, an interminable story about a charity. Shame the name of the charity is misspelled.

Looked to me like it was a play on traffic as well as terrific? Still looks messy with the H&P logo covering so much of the picture.

It’s clearly a play on ‘Triffic’ – as favoured by Del Boy in OFAH. Friday Funny? I’m splitting my sides.
