Trinity Mirror social content website hits 7m unique users

A social content website launched by Trinity Mirror earlier this year has more than doubled its unique users in just a month.

Entertainment and humour site UsVsTh3m hit 7m monthly unique users in November, more than double October’s figure of 3m.

The Buzzfeed-style site was launched by Trinity Mirror in May and reached its first million users in September, rapidly increasing its growth since then.

The publisher said its biggest traffic driver to the site in November was the Northometer game, which tests “how northern” people are, and so far more than 3.8m people have played it.

Malcolm Coles, digital product developer at Trinity Mirror, said: “This is an amazing achievement by the team to have grown so quickly in such a short space of time and shows the importance of experimentation for publishers. Our next experiment, Ampp3d, producing socially shareable data journalism launches shortly.”

The publisher’s Ampp3d project is a new data journalism website which will publish charts, graphs, facts and figures about news stories.
