A regional daily has been recognised as a city landmark on a new editon of popular board game Monopoly.
The Wolverhampton version of the game features the Express & Star, which is based in the city, as one of the 22 hotspots on the board.
Also featuring on the new Monopoly edition is the Civic Hall, Wightwick Manor, Wolverhampton Market, British Mensa, the Grand Theatre.
The Express & Star reported that the city landmarks which appear were chosen after local people were asked which buildings and businesses should feature on the Wolverhampton Monopoly board.
The Midland News Association tweeted: “Eagerly-awaited Wolverhampton Monopoly board features Express & Star – proud to be part of city.”
Wolverhampton joins the likes of London, Chicago, Milan and Berlin in having its own version of Monopoly.
Having walked through Wolverhampton last week I am not sure anyone could afford to buy it.
The city has 29% unemployment and is dying a slow death

Massive none story. I used to work at the Chester Chronicle which appears on the Chester edition of Monopoly.

It’s probably the only daily paper – or one of the few – still located in a city centre.
