Asparagus is big news in Evesham. The town hosts an annual Asparagus Festival, the centrepiece of which is the crowning of an Asparagus King.
So perhaps the Evesham Journal can be forgiven for this bill which, to a casual passer-by, might seem like the Worcestershire market town has been enjoying a somewhat slow news day.

It breaks unwritten bill rule No. 1: ‘Tease but never give the story away.’ I know from the bill the entire story and don’t need to buy the paper. Perhaps something like this would have been better: ‘ASPARAGUS PRICES TO RAKE IN MONEY’
