Clegg to address regional political journalists

A group of regional political journalists are to get the chance to quiz deputy prime minister Nick Clegg at their annual lunch later this month.

The deputy premier will address regional newspaper political journalists, editors and managers at the Newspaper Conference annual lunch in London.

The conference is made up of London-based correspondents of regional titles in membership of the Newspaper Society.

It is chaired this year by Sam Lister, parliamentary correspondent for Press Association Lobby Extra which serves a number of regional titles.

The annual lunch is the main event of the Conference calendar which is made up a series of lunches with senior politicians throughout the year.

David Cameron was the guest two years ago when opposition leader and Tony Blair and Gordon Brown have also been among the recent speakers.
