Newsquest – one of the country’s leading regional media companies – has 10 vacancies remaining for Local Democracy Reporters as part of an exciting UK‐wide ground‐breaking initiative between regional publishers and the BBC.
The vacancies are in Shropshire, Argyll & Bute, Reading, Slough, Bradford, Cumbria, and Flintshire.
This unique scheme is designed to increase coverage and scrutiny of local authorities across the UK. Funded by the BBC and run by media publishers, the reporters will offer in‐depth coverage of our local authorities.
To be considered for this role, you will be at least qualified to NCTJ prelim with shorthand and on the way to taking your NQJ exams/or already NQJ qualified/or equivalent with experience of working in a newsroom. This essential criteria will go hand in hand with your ability to provide outstanding content in text, audio and video format.
This role is a 2 year fixed term contract with a minimum salary of £22k (£24k London) as well as holiday entitlement, pension scheme plus other benefits available to you as a Newsquest employee.
