Deputy editor quits regional title to go freelance

Rachael HesnoThe deputy editor of a regional B2B website has left the title to go freelance.

Rachael Hesno, pictured, has announced her departure from Prolific North after four years.

Launched in 2013, the website aims to connect and inform the North of England’s creative and digital sectors through industry news, insights and events.

It attracts an average of 120,000 monthly unique visitors.

Posting on LinkedIn, Rachael wrote: “After nearly four years at Prolific North, I’ve made the decision to leave my post as deputy editor as I embark on an exciting new chapter.

“A big thanks to all the fab PRs, and all the incredible people that have shared their stories with me, as well as all the brilliant people I’ve worked with over the years at Prolific North.

“So what’s next? I have some exciting projects in the pipeline and I am really looking forward to covering plenty of other exciting industries soon.

“I will be open to freelance journalist/content projects from June onwards, so let’s have a chat or grab a coffee if you’d like to work together.”

Earlier this year, former Newsquest and Reach plc editorial boss Karl Holbrook joined Prolific North as its new consulting editor.
