Student journalists are set to discover which among them will win paid work with a daily newspaper this week.

Glasgow-based daily The Herald has announced the shortlist for its Student Press Awards 2025, with the Student Journalist of the Year title’s winner receiving a four-week paid internship with The Herald this summer.

The winners of the News Writer of the Year, Features Writer of the Year, Sports Writer of the Year and Columnist of the Year categories will also receive one week’s work experience with The Herald editorial team.

The successful candidates will be announced during a ceremony at The Herald offices in Glasgow tomorrow.
