Senior journalist duo join comms consultancy

Catherine MacLeodTwo highly-experienced Scottish journalists have take on advisory roles with a growing communications consultancy.

Catherine McLeod and Chris Deerin have joined Edinburgh-based strategic comms and reputation risk consultancy Charlotte Street Partners as senior advisers.

Catherine, pictured, is a former political editor of The Herald and was special adviser to Chancellor Alistair Darling in 2008-10, helping oversee the Treasury’s communications operation during the financial crisis.

Chris is a former executive editor of Scotland on Sunday and head of comment at the Daily Telegraph and is now Scotland editor of the New Statesman as well as writing for a variety of publications, including the Financial Times, The Economist and the Press & Journal.

Catherine will offer bespoke media training and political advisory services to Charlotte Street Partners’ clients, while Chris will provide advice on policy and the political scene
