‘Lily-livered’ reporter to walk on hot coals for charity

A “lily-livered” weekly newspaper reporter is set to walk on hot coals in aid of a charity on his patch.

Liam Chorley, of the Isle of Wight County Press, will take on the challenge for St Catherine’s Speech and Language School.

The fiery walk will take place at the school on 8 June.

Beforehand, Liam, who describes himself as “lily-livered”, will be trained by Scott Bell, twice Guinness World Record Holder for the greatest distance walked on fire and founder of UK Firewalk.

Liam, pictured, told his paper: “I’ve never had a burning desire to consign my feet to some red-hot coals, but it’s for a very worthy cause.

“I’m excited, in a morbid curiosity sort of way. Hopefully, I don’t completely embarrass myself.”
