Journalist looks back on 100 years of history in new book about patch

A journalist has paid homage to the history of his old patch with a new book.

George Tattum has published Mold: The Passing of Time, which chronicles important moments in the life of the North Wales town from the 1890s to the 1990s.

George, a former chief multi-media journalist with the Flintshire Chronicle, has collected images for the 100-page publication over a number of years.

He previously wrote a similar book called The Spirit of Mold, which chronicled 20th century life in the town.

George told The Leader: “I hope the new book will bring back memories of the town as it used to be in bygone days, and readers will enjoy our celebration of Mold across the years.

“It has been made possible thanks to the efforts of many people who have supported the project, including acclaimed professional photographer, Graham Catherall.”

Mold: The Passing of Time, is priced at £9.99, and is available from The Bookshop, High Street, Mold and Siop Yr Siswrn, New Street, Mold.
