A journalist has left a city news website to take up a new national role with the BBC.

Emma Higgins has said farewell to National World-owned title Manchester World.

Video journalist Emma, pictured, is joining BBC Breakfast and News at One.

She announced the move on Twitter last week.

Emma wrote: “I am delighted to announce I have accepted a position as journalist at BBC Breakfast and News at One.

“I will be leaving LocalTV next week to take this exciting next step in my career.”

Emma tained at News Associates in Manchester before taking up her role with National World in the summer of 2022.
