Deputy editor leaves city title after seven years for charity role

Ellie PipeA city news title’s deputy editor is leaving her post after seven years for a media relations role.

Ellie Pipe has announced her departure from Bristol 24/7, where she is currently second in command.

Ellie, pictured, has also held roles including business editor and news editor at the independent title since joining in 2017.

Prior to that, she spent two-and-a-half years with the Sidmouth Herald.

Ellie is joining the walking, wheeling and cycling charity Sustrans, which is headquartered in Bristol, as a media officer.

Posting on X, she wrote: After seven incredible years, I am going to be leaving Bristol 24/7 next month.

“This means my job – and the chance to work with a wonderful team – is available.”

Sustrans was formed in Bristol in July 1977 as Cyclebag by a group of cyclists and environmentalists and has since grown to become a UK-wide charity.

Its flagship project is the National Cycle Network, which has created 12,763 miles of cycle routes throughout the UK.
