Daily launches fresh bid to crack city’s unsolved crimes

Patrick EdrichA regional daily is urging the victims of unsolved crimes to come forward so it can help them to get justice.

The Liverpool Echo has launched an appeal for those affected by crimes – including the families of murder victims – to get in touch so it can get publicity for their cause.

It comes after the Echo launched a series in October examining some of Merseyside’s most notorious unsolved murders.

Reporter Patrick Edrich, pictured, is running the series.

In an appeal for victims of serious crime to come forward, he wrote: “By looking at how the cases were reported at the time, and what the public response was across the region, the Echo hopes people who hold information may be convinced to come forward.

“With the new series only months in, the ECHO has so far only looked at just a handful of the unsolved murders in Merseyside.

“However, as the project moves forward, we want to cover a range of unsolved crimes to try and bring the victims and their families justice after going so long without it.”
