A reporter has left two regional sister dailies in order to join a national newspaper.

Craig Munro has announced his departure from DC Thomson dailies the Aberdeen Evening Express and Press & Journal after four years to become a news reporter at Metro, based in London.

Craig, pictured, joined DC Thomson in 2019, initially as a trainee sub-editor.

He moved into reporting the following year.

Craig told HTFP: “I was lucky to spend four years working for two of the best local newspapers in the country, first as a sub-editor then as a reporter for the Evening Express and Press & Journal.

“There was a lot of positive change over my time there and I’m looking forward to seeing where they go in the future.

“I’m thrilled to be making the move to national news, and to be joining a newsroom that is just as exciting and friendly as the one I’ve left.”
