Reporter leaves regional daily to edit specialist business title

A reporter has left a regional daily to take up an editor role at a specialist business title.

Tom Chapman has announced his departure from the Eastern Daily Press in order to take up the role with Business Chief, which is aimed at readers with an interest in international business leadership.

Tom was one of three journalists to leave the Newsquest-owned EDP in recent weeks, alongside Noah Vickers and Emily Thomson.

Local democracy reporter Noah has left the Norwich-based daily to take up the same position at London’s Evening Standard, where he will cover City Hall, while Emily has joined public relations firm Rhizome Media as an account executive.

Posting about his move on Twitter, Tom wrote: “After five-and-a-half years at the EDP and sister titles, I’m moving on to pastures new.

“It’s been an absolute blast and I’ve met so many amazing, talented people along the way. Looking forward to starting a new adventure.”
