Regional reporter to take up role with national TV station

A regional reporter has announced he is leaving his role to write for the website of a national TV news station.

George Bunn revealed on social media platform ‘X’ that he is joining GB News as a digital reporter after spending the last ten months with the Stoke Sentinel and its associated website Stoke On Trent Live.

The news channel, which last week announced that former Prime Minister Boris Johnson would be joining their ranks as a presenter, also runs a companion website, GBnews.com.

George, who started working for Staffordshire Live in 2020 and switched to Stoke in January of this year, is excited at the prospect of taking on the ‘fantastic opportunity’ ahead of him.

He said: “I have loved working at the Sentinel and Burton Mail. As someone who grew up in Staffordshire, I know how important news is to people living in towns like Stafford and Burton upon Trent.

“The team has been absolutely fantastic and I am sad to be leaving.

“However, GB News is a fantastic new opportunity to tell the stories that matter to real, ordinary people from a wide range of diverse communities across the country and I’m looking forward to joining the team and getting started.”
