Regional journalists to vie for national financial reporting prize

Peter RanscombeRegional journalists will vie for an award recognising the best in financial journalism.

The Wincott Foundation has announced the shortlist for its annual awards, which features a specific category for Journalist of the Year in the UK nations and regions.

Among those nominated are Peter Ranscombe, who recently claimed Business Writer of the Year at the Highlands and Islands Media Awards.

Freelance Peter, pictured, has been nominated for work he has undertaken for Aberdeen’s Press & Journal.

Former Manchester Evening News journalist Jennifer Williams, who is now Northern correspondent at the Financial times, is also shortlisted.

They are joined by Scott Wright, of the Glasgow Herald, and Lauren Phillips, who works for the Western Mail and Business Live Wales.

The 2021 prize was won by Clodagh Rice, of BBC Northern Ireland.

The 2022 winner will be announced on 9 May at the awards lunch in Mansion House, City of London.
