A regional newspaper group’s owner has added two new titles to its portfolio after buying a specialist publisher.
Claverley Group Limited, which owns Express & Star publisher the Midland News Association, has announced the acquisition of London-based B2B media marketing business Lyonsdown.
Lyonsdown owns the business news website Business Reporter and Teiss, which covers the online security sector.
The acquisition was completed on Tuesday 27 June and is the fifth made by Claverley since 2018.
The group’s chief executive Phil Inman, pictured, said: “We are delighted to have concluded the acquisition of Lyonsdown.
“The business has grown rapidly over recent years and we look forward to working with the current team to support further growth and development.”
Lyonsdown MD Bradley Scheffer added: “I’d like to thank our incredible team here at Lyonsdown for all the hard work they have done over the last 17 years to make us one of the most successful companies in our sector.
“Working with Claverley will enable us to grow our products and services exponentially. I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can reach together in the future.”
Lyonsdown will continue to operate from its current base in London, with all staff being retained.
