Publisher launches six-figure bid to expand armed forces village

An independent publisher has launched a six-figure bid to help ex-servicepeople.

Iliffe Media subsidiary the KM Group is aiming to raise £100,000 for the Royal British Legion Industries village.

The village, in Kent, provides housing, welfare support and care to more 350 former members of the armed forces and their families, and is currently aiming to expand its facilities.

The ‘Homes for Heroes’ campaign aims to raise the money needed to complete the project, which aims to provide a home and support for hundreds more veterans that will last for the next 100 years.

Ilife editorial director Ian Carter said: “We’re incredibly proud of the RBLI’s Kent links and in awe of the amazing work they do there.

“Looking after those men and women who gave so much is as noble an endeavour as there is.

“We’re delighted to support the charity and call on the great Kent public to help them raise that final £100,000.”
