A journalist has left a regional daily to cover health for PA.

Storm Newton has been appointed to the role of health reporter with the national news agency after saying farewell to the Liverpool Echo.

Storm, pictured, had worked as a property writer for the Echo since joining in July last year.

She previously spent eight years with Manchester-based Insider Media where her roles included digital staff writer, senior staff writer and assistant digital editor.

Storm is the second regional press recruit to join PA in recent weeks after Anahita Hossein-Pour was appointed as the agency’s Kent and Sussex reporter.

Anahita previously covered the London boroughs of Ealing, Hillingdon and Hounslow for Reach’s MyLondon as a local democracy reporter.
