A national journalist has taken up a new role covering an award-winning regional business editor’s maternity leave.

Abigail Turner, pictured, has moved from the Daily Mail’s Femail team to join Reach plc as South West business editor of its Business Live brand.

Abigail’s appointment comes after Hannah Baker left to go on maternity leave.

Hannah previously won Local/Regional Journalist of the Year at the 2019 Headlinemoney Awards.

As well as Business Live, titles covered by her role include the Bristol Post, Western Daily Press, Gloucestershire Echo, Gloucestershire Citizen, Somerset Guardian and Bath Chronicle.

Abigail, who has worked for the Mail for the past year, previously freelanced for the Yorkshire Post between 2017 and 2019.

She later spent three years with fashion and lifestyle Diary Directory, where she was initially an editorial assistant and later promoted to assistant editor.
