Husband and wife journalist team set up own studio

A husband and wife team of former regional journalists have set up their own broadcast studio together.

Nicola and Stephen Sands have built the studio in Altrincham as part of plans to grow their family media agency Applehead Media.

The couple, pictured, met on a blind date while working at ITV Yorkshire in Leeds, where Nicola was entertainment correspondent and Stephen worked as a cameraman.

After marrying, they set up Applehead Media in 2007 using their knowledge of TV and production to help businesses.

Nicola said: said: “It is the right time for us to invest and expand. Our new studio is in a great, central location between Altrincham and Hale and we’ve already had some fabulous feedback from our clients.

“Journalism is an ever-evolving profession. We are simply using our skills honed in newsrooms and studios to take our company on to the next level in a digital age.

“Businesses are increasingly looking for new, innovative ways to tell their story in a very fast-paced digital landscape, which can sometimes seem overwhelming. That’s where we can help.

“Our studio is designed to be the backdrop to their story and help them with their content so it captures the attention of their potential global audience and drive the results they want.”

Stephen added: “This is a really exciting time for Applehead Media, our new studio is already giving us the opportunity to work with more clients and offer an even wider range of services.

“We’re excited to be working on some great new projects in the coming months.”
