A football reporter has changed the clubs he covers after leaving an independent title to join two sister dailies.

Alex Jones has been unveiled as the new football writer at the East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star.

Alex, pictured, has joined the Newsquest-owned dailies to cover Ipswich Town.

He previously reported on Millwall FC for the Southwark News, where he had spent the past year.

Alex posted on Twitter: “Delighted to announce that I’m joining the EADT to cover Ipswich Town.

“Undoubtedly one of the most exciting jobs in football at the moment and a real honour to be involved.”

Alex went on to thank EADT head of sport Mark Heath and chief football writer Stuart Watson.

His appointment comes after Andy Warren, who was previously Ipswich Town reporter for the newspapers, left to join the club’s media team.
