Executive editor says farewell to daily after 10 years

Gemma ToulsonAn editorial boss has left a regional daily to work in a different industry.

Gemma Toulson has said farewell to the Nottingham Post, where she was most recently executive editor and has previously held other senior roles including business editor and news editor.

As previously reported by HTFP, Derby Telegraph editor Sam Dimmer has moved to fill the role vacated by Gemma’s departure.

Sam’s move means the Telegraph has been left without a dedicated editor.

Gemma, pictured, told HTFP: “I plan to pursue opportunities in another industry.

“I am hugely grateful to everyone I’ve worked with over the years, with particular thanks to [current Post editor] Natalie Fahy and [former Post editor] Mike Sassi.”

Posting on Twitter about Gemma’s departure, Post editor Natalie said: “A sad day at the Post today as we say goodbye to our executive editor Gemma Toulson after 10 years in the team.

“What a decade it’s been.”
