Editorial chief who left publisher in cutbacks lands new national job

Andrew QuinnAn editorial chief who left a regional publisher amid recent cutbacks has landed a new national role.

Andrew Quinn has joined the Irish Daily Mirror as a content editor following his departure from National World.

HTFP reported last month how Andrew had taken voluntary redundancy from his role as deputy group live editor amid wider cuts at the publisher.

He previously worked for the Derry Journal and the Belfast News Letter during his 16 years of service with National World and its forerunners.

Andrew, pictured, announced his move to the Dublin-based title, which is owned by Reach plc, in a post on X on Monday.

He wrote: “I’m finally able to share my good news. I am absolutely over the moon to have joined the editing team at the Irish Mirror.

“Editor Billy Scanlon and his team could not have been more welcoming on my first day today. Exciting times ahead.”
