A city daily has thrown its weight behind a campaign to save a health centre from closure.
The Norwich Evening News is campaigning to keep Norwich’s NHS walk-in centre open.
The campaign’s launch comes after a consultation was launched in January asking patients if they felt its contract, which will run out in March 2024, should be renewed.
The campaign provided a splash for the Evening News yesterday.
Editor Richard Porritt told HTFP: “The walk-in centre is a vital resource for the people of Norwich especially at a time when our A&E and GP surgeries are struggling so much.
“There are already some petitions that have been set up – but we believe the best way to make a difference is for our readers to get involved in the public consultation.
“I’m confident reader power can make a real difference and ultimately keep the centre open.”
